The mysterious record label Telum returns with another untitled 12”, bringing forward amazing music without revealing who are the artists behind it. With only the sounds and emotions in focus, every release comes in a limited pressing on hand-stamped 180g vinyl. TELUM004 features four tracks designed with amazing deep house and minimalistic flavours, with early support coming from the likes of Raresh, Petre Inspirescu, Priku, Barac, Cap, Praslea, Cristi Cons, Lizz, Mihai Pol, Alci and others. Recently, the imprint also started a podcast series with Cosmjn and Jan Golly being the first to drop hot selections.
The imprint enjoys massive endorsement in the electronic dance music scene worldwide while renowned DJs and producers from the local scene frequently play tracks from their catalogue. You surely have heard some cuts from TELUM004 at the latest edition of Sunwaves and the future looks bright, as the next pressing was already announced.
A1 opens the EP with a very melodic and groovy sound that will make you daydream of summer and want to start moving your body to the exotic rhythm. The playful bassline and the clear and steady percussion are backed-up by a subtly modulated electric guitar sample and colourful synths. Next, A2 delivers a more intense beat that keeps rolling with long bright textures in the background, while reverberating piano notes swirl around the core layers.
On the flipside, B1 stands out with its solid bassline, deep house patterns and minimalistic arrangements. Perfect for late afternoons, the relaxed tempo calls for dancing as the track builds tension through its percussion layers from time to time. The feeling is passed over to the closing cut, B2 providing a hypnotic carousel of emotions. The composition flows with elegance while having engaging energy embedded into it, concluding the wax with style.
